The Liberian Agricultural Company rubber plantation, spanning an area twice the size of Chicago, employs over 4,000 workers who endure tough conditions for low wages—$5.50 per day for full-time workers, with contract workers, especially women, earning even less. Female workers also face widespread sexual harassment from supervisors. One rubber tapper, Rebecca, recounted being denied work after refusing a supervisor’s sexual demands, highlighting the exploitation and abuse faced by women in the industry.
