Who we are, what we do, and the movement we are building!

The Natural Resource Women Platform (NRWP) is a women-led grassroots movement-building platform established in 2010, working to strengthen the collective power of rural women, Indigenous women, women farmers, and Women Human Rights Defenders across Liberia.

Our work is rooted in advancing land rights, climate justice, environmental accountability, women’s leadership, and sustainable livelihoods. Through grassroots organizing, knowledge building, capacity development, collective advocacy, and economic empowerment, we support women to defend their rights, protect natural resources, and influence decisions affecting their communities.

This brochure provides an overview of our movement identity, mission, vision, key areas of work, organizational structure, achievements, and the women leaders and team driving our collective efforts.

From establishing community seed banks and supporting women-led communal farms to strengthening savings groups, empowering women environmental defenders, and advancing the Right to Say No, our work demonstrates what women can achieve when they organize and act collectively.

We believe that women are not just affected by decisions about land, forests, and climate; they must be at the center of making those decisions.

Together, we are amplifying women’s voices and strengthening collective power for a just, feminist, and environmentally sustainable Liberia.
